Notiz: Birth: Jul., 1819 Birth: Jul., 1819 The graves of those buried at an earlier cemetery , the German M E Church on Hertel Avenue, had been moved in 1951 to Elm Lawn Cemetery by the Ripley Memorial Methodist Church. Johannes was married to Catherine Anna Derbaker in Germany and they emigrated from Germany on the President Smidt sailing from Bremen and arriving in NYC August 24 1855 at ages 40 and 36 with their children Martha Elizabeth, Johannes, Henry, Paul Albrecht, Thomas, Hermann, and had two more children after arriving in New York, Adam and Alice.
