He is survived by his wife, two sons, John, of Cleveland, Ohio and Charles, of Rochester and three daughters, Mrs Catherine More of Cleveland, OH; Mrs. Frank Griffin and Miss Sadie Manzler of Rochester.ROCHESTER DEMOCRAT AND CHRONICLE; SUNDAY JULY 27, 1902Herman Manzler, an old German resident of the city, died inst. Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at his home. No. 96 Sanford Street, aged 77 years 5 months and 14 days. He leaves his wife, two daughters, two sons, sixteen grandchildren, one brother and one sister. All were present at the funeral, which was held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the German Reformed Emanuel Church. Rev H.E. Schnatz attended. Interment was made in the family lot in Mt. Hope cemetery. Herman Manzler was born February 8, 1825, in Grossnengels, Krels Fritziar, Kurhessen, German. He served his native country as a soldier for six years, and carried through life a sear, the result of a saber wound that he received in battle. He came to this country in 1857, and the same year married Miss Katherine Elizabeth Rentzland. Aside from the results from hardships in military service and general weakness of old age he was well until almost two months ago.1880 MONROE COUNTY NEW YORK CENSUS - MANZLER: Herman (53), Katie (48); children, John (20), Katie (18), Charlie (10), Martha (8) and Sadie (5)The 1880 Rochester City Directory lists Herman's address as 65 Sanford Street. As a side note, there is a John W. Manzler listed as an upholsterer @ 141 W. Main street residing at 65 Sanford street. This is the only time John W. is listed.The 1890 Rochester Substitute Census Index lists Herman as a laborer and a residence of 96 Sanford StreetThe 1895 Rochester City Directory lists Herman's address as 96 Englewood AveThe 1899-1900 Rochester City Directory lists Herman's address as 96 Sanford StreetThe 1903 Rochester City Directory indicates that Herman died July 17, 1902 at age 76
